AFFF 1% F foam concentrate
Fomtec AFFF 1% F is an aqueous film forming foam concentrate (AFFF) consisting of a blend of fluorocarbon-, hydrocarbon surfactants and various solvents and stabilisers. Only C6 Pure fluorosurfactants are used in Fomtec AFFF-formulations. Fomtec AFFF 1% F utilises the unique film forming effect to cut off oxygen supply to the fire and the oleophobic properties of the foam enables a stable foam blanket to suppress reignition of the fire.
Description
Fomtec AFFF 1% F is a high-performance aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) designed for rapid knockdown of Class B hydrocarbon fires and effective suppression of Class A combustibles. The concentrate uses short-chain C6 fluorochemistry and is environmentally documented according to HOCNF, making it suitable for marine, offshore and industrial use.
The foam is proportioned at 1% (1 part concentrate to 99 parts water) and can be applied with both fresh and seawater. For Class A fires such as wood, textiles and paper, an induction ratio of 0.3–0.5% is recommended depending on equipment.
Fomtec AFFF 1% F is fully certified to major international firefighting standards, including EN 1568, IMO Circ. 1312, MED Wheelmark, ICAO Level B, and GOST. It is especially suited for operations requiring low freezing points and high reliability in cold environments.
Applications
Fomtec AFFF 1% F is used in high-risk environments where fast foam performance is essential:
-
Fuel storage tanks and loading racks
-
Process areas and heavy industry
-
Marine vessels and offshore platforms
-
Waste and recycling facilities
-
Airports, ARFF vehicles and aviation fuel areas
The foam is compatible with all low and medium expansion equipment, including aspirating branchpipes, monitors and fixed foam systems. For CAF-systems, the product delivers stable foam with excellent sealing capability.
