ENGINE WATER TREATMENT25 LTR(9108)
NALFLEET™ Engine Water Treatment 9-108™ is a balanced mixture of corrosion inhibitors, formulated to give a high nitrite furnish which is becoming a more frequent requirement for the new generation of high efficiency diesel engines.
Description
Engine Water Treatment 9-108 – Nitrite-Based Cooling Water Protection
NALFLEET™ Engine Water Treatment 9-108 is a high-performance cooling water treatment formulated to protect diesel engines from corrosion, scale and sludge. It is effective in both hot and cold water systems and works in combination with glycol-based antifreeze. Because it contains a built-in anti-scalant, it helps keep heat transfer surfaces clean and efficient over long operating periods.
This product also supersedes older treatment solutions within the same category and is approved by all major diesel engine manufacturers.

1. Preparation Before Dosing
-
Flush the system to remove sludge and particles.
-
If necessary, clean with Unitor™ Commissioning Cleaner to remove oil and grease.
-
Dose EWT 9-108 directly into the cooling system.
2. Sampling and Testing
Weekly testing is essential.
-
Use the WSS SpectraPak 309 Test Kit (739466).
-
Take a representative sample and test immediately.
-
Log results in Waterproof and report according to instructions.
Dosing & Control
Nitrite Control Limits (as NO₂)
-
Minimum: 670 ppm → dose 2.2 L/m³
-
Recommended: 800 ppm → dose 2.7 L/m³
-
Maximum: 1,000 ppm → dose 3.4 L/m³
Adjustment Rule
To increase nitrite by 100 ppm, add 0.3 L/m³.
Examples
New system (0 ppm):
→ Dose 2.7 L/m³ to reach 800 ppm.
Existing system (600 ppm):
→ Increase to 800 ppm:
200 ppm required = 0.6 L/m³ of EWT 9-108.
General Notes
-
Always follow engine manufacturer requirements for water quality.
-
Keep chloride levels as low as possible – typically below 50 ppm.
-
Distilled water is recommended for system make-up.
