FOMTEC AFFF 3% A foam concentrate

Fomtec AFFF 3% A is an aqueous film forming foam concentrate (AFFF) consisting of a blend of fluorocarbon-, hydrocarbon surfactants and various solvents and stabilisers. Only C6 Pure fluorosurfactants are used in Fomtec AFFF-formulations. Fomtec AFFF 3% A utilises the unique film forming effect to cut off oxygen supply to the fire and the oleophobic properties of the foam enables a stable foam blanket to suppress reignition of the fire.

Description

Fomtec AFFF 3% A is a high-performance, C6-based aqueous film forming foam concentrate designed for rapid fire knockdown on Class B hydrocarbon fires and effective suppression of Class A combustibles. The formulation is based on pure short-chain C6 fluorochemistry, ensuring strong film-forming properties while complying with modern environmental standards.

The concentrate is used at 3% proportioning and can be applied with both fresh and seawater. It is suitable for low and medium expansion foam systems, and freeze-protected versions are available for cold-climate operations.

Applications

Fomtec AFFF 3% A is ideal for:

  • Class B hydrocarbon fires: diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, oil

  • General industrial firefighting and fire brigades

  • Mobile firefighting equipment: foam branchpipes, monitors

  • Fixed systems using low or medium expansion devices

  • Class A fires such as wood, textiles, paper (at 0.3–1% induction)

Typical users include fire departments, industrial plants, marine operators and aviation fuel storage facilities.

Fire Performance & Foaming

  • Certified to EN 1568 Part 3

  • Class IIIB rating in fresh and seawater

  • Average expansion: 7:1
