Directions for Use
Nalfleet 2000 is suitable for all common types of engine cooling systems. It protects ferrous metals, copper components, and aluminium parts. Because it does not affect rubber seals or non-metallic components, it can be safely used in most systems.
Before treatment
It is recommended to drain and flush the cooling system. If deposits are present, the system should also be chemically cleaned. This ensures optimal performance.
Application
For best results, add Nalfleet 2000 while the cooling water is circulating. Larger systems should use a bypass feeder. Smaller systems can be treated directly via the header tank. The product is also compatible with water-glycol mixtures.
Nitrite Control Range
-
Minimum: 700 ppm (≈ 22 L/m³)
-
Maximum: 1500 ppm (≈ 48 L/m³)
-
Recommended routine maintenance: 840 ppm (≈ 27 L/m³)
Adjustment guideline
To raise the nitrite level by 100 ppm, add 3 L/m³ of Nalfleet 2000.
Testing and Maintenance
Regular testing ensures correct protection levels. Therefore, cooling water should be checked at least once per week. Use the WSS Motor Ship Test Kit to measure nitrite levels and water quality. Log all results and follow the recommendations in the test kit instructions.
Engine manufacturers also recommend keeping chloride levels as low as possible, ideally below 50 ppm. For this reason, distilled water should be used for make-up.
Packaging & Approvals
Nalfleet 2000 is approved by all major engine manufacturers.
