Unitor Seacare OSD-2 – Type I Oil Spill Dispersant

Unitor Seacare OSD-2 is a biodegradable, hydrocarbon-based oil spill dispersant with high dispersing efficiency and low toxicity. It is fully approved as a Type I dispersant according to LR448 specifications by DEFRA (UK), making it suitable for treating oil spills at sea, on beaches, and on vessel surfaces where permitted.

Type I dispersants are designed for undiluted use, primarily for shoreline treatment, but also for direct application at sea via spray equipment and agitation systems. Seacare OSD-2™ converts hydrocarbons into fine emulsions, allowing rapid and efficient dispersion.

Directions for Use

Oil Spills at Sea

• Apply undiluted using spray equipment

• Allow absorption time

• Agitate using fire hoses, ship propellers, or breaker boards

• Do not use in waters shallower than 20 meters unless approved by local authorities

Beaches & Shoreline

• Spray undiluted onto contaminated areas

• Allow absorption

• Wash down with seawater

• Approx. 1 liter treats 10 m² of thin slick

• Multiple applications may be required

Oil Spills on Deck

• Remove bulk oil first

• Spray Seacare OSD-2™ onto remaining contamination

• Allow contact time

• Rinse using a fire hose

• Repeat as necessary
